Richard Price was competing in the Lotus Seven Club Championship near Worcester when he clipped a verge which caused his car to flip into the air and spin numerous times. The accident stunned spectators but what stunned everyone more was the Richard walked away from the wreckage with just bruising

Recalling the incident last month, the maintenance engineer from Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, said: ‘There is very little room for manoeuvre on that corner and the car started to slide sideways. I tried to correct the slide but the left front wheel caught the side of the road. Then I think there were four or five impacts.

‘I went up the bank and the nose dug in and span me up in the air turning 360 degrees, landing on the nose again, turned another 180 degrees before landing on the back end and coming to rest. As I sat in the car I remember thinking I’m glad that is over’

‘Then there were medics around me and the next thing I remember is sitting in an ambulance around 300 yards away.  The car is in a sad state but I will rebuild it.’
