Jason Kidd joins the Knicks

After missing out on Steve Nash, who decided to sign with the Lakers, the New York Knicks have agreed to a multi-year deal with Jason Kidd. The All-Star point guard leaves Dallas after they were close to agreeing a deal to keep him, and it is unclear whether the Knicks will buy the 18 year veteran outright or acquire him in a sign-and-trade deal.

The Knicks will now try to match the offer sheet for their other point guard Jeremy Lin after last season’s heroics. The Houston Rockets have reportedly placed a $28.8 million four year deal on the table after Goran Dragic agreed to join the Suns in a $34 million deal and Kyle Lowry was traded to the Toronto Raptors.

The Mavericks are left in turmoil after failing to attract Derron Williams, who decided to stick with the Brooklyn Nets, Lamar Odom leaving to join the Clippers and Jason Terry on his way to the Boston Celtics.
