It was the finals that we have all been waiting and were all hoping for. The two in form teams in this years NBA came head to head and it was Miami who looked likely to take the win at Oklahoma. The Heat were 13 points up but the Thunder came storming back to take the game by an 11 point margin.
LeBron James scored 30 points but it was OKC’s Kevin Durant who came in with 37 points but crucially a huge 17 of those were in the final quarter. Russell Westbrook came in with 27 of which 18 of those were in the second half.
Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra: This one’s behind us, they pounded us in all the muscle areas. When we’re not defending we don’t get opportunities. We were thinking we were putting ourselves in a position to win and then they just went away from us.”
Kevin Durant: “I guess being in The Finals we were kinda nervous (at the start) it took a little while to get the jitters out of us and settled down.”
LeBron James: “We had a good game plan to start the game but that third quarter really hurt us. They made shots and we missed shots. They made more plays, especially offensively.”
