Is it an island or is it a boat.. well it’s actually a floating island. It offers an affordable price for a billionaire too. Where you could expect to pay anything from £30-£80 million for a super yacht this costs £3million. It has six luxury double bedrooms which can fit 12 people but it also has space for 4 staff members. The six rooms are 20 m² all with ensuite and have large window so you can gaze out into the ocean.

The Orsos floating island is described by its maker as being powered by a noiseless wind energy system as well as solar panel and Heat recovery from the sea water is the basis for heating and air-conditioning.

It comes with a sun deck area which has BBQ facilities, a Jacuzzi and a bar which and seat up to 50 people.  The main living room is not cramped and has an aquarium and the small kitchenette has a bar and restaurant area.

You may still think this is very expensive but when you consider its predecessors who have come up with floating islands have asked for $100 million you see how much progress has been made to ensure the price has been kept to minimum. The islands creator Gabo Orsos said: ‘In the beginning, my goal was to create an exclusive, high-quality hotel chain based on floating platforms. With the progress of the project it became clear that the attractive and unusual concept of Orsos Islands should not be limited to only a selected group of people. Orsos Islands should reach a much broader audience, people with an awareness of modern life and a feeling of responsibility towards the environment.’

The company has started a prototype in Germany and hope to show it to the public at the end of 2013.
