Leighton Baines seems to be the most sought after defender in the world right now. You may think because he plays for Everton that clubs may be looking at getting a good deal for a en England international, but that is simply not the case. Napoli, Manchester United and a host of other clubs are after the player who is valued at around £20 million.

Napoli are the most serious contenders for his signature after their defender Dosena started negotiations with AC Milan over the weekend. They have been scared off by the price tag Everton have put on him but are confident that they could bring it marginally lower.

Everton as usual are expected to sell players this season as the clubs financial state is not too healthy. Influential midfielder TIm Cahill has refused to rule out a move to Saudi Arabia. Cahill said:  ‘I am a massive fan of the Middle East, the cultures, the people.  I respect them a lot. For me, it is just to focus on the Socceroos and we will see what happens later.’
