Arsenal weighing up move for Fulhams Clint Dempsey

Clint Dempsey in my opinion has always been a solid performer for Fulham and a player that gets more than his fair share of the goals from a midfield position. This season though has been a break out year for a player who is 29 years of age. The American has scored 23 goals this season having changed his position to an out and out striker.

He has enjoyed playing in that position and the big clubs are circling. There were rumours of Liverpool chasing the player but Arsene Wenger is said to be wanting to make an approach. With Podolski already signing for the north london club, Wenger wants to play Dempsey behind Van Persie and the Podolski.

But Fulham boss Martin Jol said: “If a manager does that it’s different as it’s a tap-up. If it’s an owner, he probably does not know the rules.”

The second option for Arsenal is that of talented youngster Junior Hoilett from Blackburn Rovers who were relegated yesterday.
