3D Printing gets social as Cubify lets you upload, create and sell your inventions

3D printing has slowly but surely gained momentum over the past couple of years. So it is no surprise that internet sites have started popping up offering people the chance to create what they want and have it made. Cubify though has gone one step further in letting you create something but also letting you sell it on mass to other people.

Cubify printers will hit the shops next month and already create intricate designs from people’s pictures.  Templates can be downloaded from sites in much the same way you rent films or buy an e-book. You simply upload it and press print, and which in awe as the picture becomes a reality.

The company states: ‘We believe a new art form is emerging where all things in 3D will merge.

‘New tools, which enable digital creation, such as 3D scanning, 3D printing and countless others, are enabling future artists to express themselves in 3D like never before.

‘We call them Cubify Artists and Cubify is their playground to create, monetize and share their ideas with others.’

Users can create an account for free  and simply give the item description and price and then get a 60% cut of what they sell. A few items have already been uploaded such as iPhone cases which are $10 up to high heel shoes for $10.
