Manchester City may be second in the premier league table but their players form this season has not gone unnoticed. Sergio Aguero, Joe Hart and David Silva are the three that have taken the premier league by storm. The other nominees were Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, Arsenal striker Van Persie and Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker.
Aguero who is also nominated for the young player of the year award has scored 28 goals this season for City in just his first season at the club. However many people will be surprised if Arsenal hit man Robin Van Persie does not win the award after having one of the best seasons in recent memory. Van Persie has scored 34 goals in all competitions so far, just two behind him though is Wayne Rooney.
