With Dwight Howard not playing, the Wizards came into the game looking as if they meant business. Kevin Seraphin led the Wizards with a career high 24 points, 13 rebounds but the game didn’t start well for the Wizards.
Orlando were up by 13 points in the first quarter but that is when the Wizards fight back happened. They went on an 11 – 0 led by Seraphin and John wall which tied the game at 41 a piece going into the second half. In the second half though it was a last quarter fight back led by Jamal Crawford and John wall that secured the win for the Wizards.
Stan Van Gundy on Seraphin’s points tally: “So you’ve got a night where you don’t have to play against the best center in the league. I would think it helped [Seraphin] a lot.”
John Wall: “They get it going early usually they keep it going. We did a great job of contesting throughout the whole game … We just kept fighting, Kevin had a big game for us and a lot of our role guys came in and played big minutes.”
