Mourinho to stay at Madrid & talks about Real Madrid’s semi final chances

There as been plenty of speculation regarding which footballers will be joining certain teams this summer but one transfer rumour that has continued, is the next managerial stop of Jose Mourinho. He is undoubtedly regarded as one of the best managers in the world, if not ‘THE’ best manager in the world. So it is only normal that most football clubs would be after the former Inter Milan, Chelsea and Porto coach.

The Portuguese coach signed a 4 year deal in May 2010 but Chelsea and Manchester City have been touted as favourites to land the self-titled ‘special one’. Mourinho though has given the clearest indication yet as to where he will be next season.

“At the moment my future is not important, but I think I will be here next season,” the Real manager said. I have a contract with the club and no reason to leave. It is better to stay at a club for four or five years’’

This comes after Real Madrid beat Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Saturday to all but secure the La Liga title. He has managed to topple one of the best teams in the last 10-20 years and take Real Madrid to the brink of a Champions League final. If Mourinho manages to win the Champions League, he will become the first coach in history to win with three different teams.

Mourinho had this to say on the semi final encounter with Munich tonight: “Overall I have not been lucky in semi-finals of the Champions League,” he said.

“I lost one with Chelsea [in 2005] due to a goal that wasn’t a goal; the ball didn’t cross the line. In [2007] we lost on penalties and I lost the semi-final last season because of what everyone knows.

“I don’t know if the Champions League is more important than the league, because the best team always wins the league and this isn’t always the case in Europe.

“However, the final of the Champions League is the most important thing in football. Tomorrow is almost like a long-awaited final, but I see calmness in the players. I don’t like an excess of emotion, nor a lack of it.”
