This Rolls-Royce is just one of two that were ever made in 1958. It’s called Cloud I and is a two seater coupe with Cadillac styling. Although this might look like an elegant design now it split the public as to whether they thought it fitted in with the elegance and superiority of the  Rolls-Royce brand. The car is being sold at auction and has done just 42,000 miles. If you are interested in purchasing this classic, it will be in Monaco on May 12th.

Rolls-Royce historian Philip Brooks said: “Freestone and Webb came up with several rather flamboyant designs for saloons and dropheads, of which this car and its sisters were the ultimate examples”.

“They all remain controversial designs, with both fans and haters. Having seen one in the flesh, so to speak, I can say that the dropheads really do look lovely.”

“They are a lot more beautiful in the flesh than they are in photographs.”

“Taking one of these on a honeymoon would be a glorious experience, but the bridal couple would certainly not be inconspicuous on their trip.”
