Dani Alves looks set to be the first high profile player to leave Barcelona this summer. The player who has not featured in key games this season, has a contract up until 2015. With Barcelona set to stand a chance of only winning one trophy, Guardiola and Barcelona are going to look to rebuild.
The Champions League semi final against Chelsea saw Alves dropped to the bench and in the Copa Del Rey semi final against Valencia he was left out of the entire squad. Guardiola was also unimpressed with the right back’s performance during the 2-1 defeat by Real Madrid on Saturday which near enough handed the league title back to rivals Madrid.
Barcelona thinks they can realistically demand a fee of up to £28 million and they think Manchester United would have that sort of money to invest. However with a player who will be 30 soon that amount of money would surely make no sense. The likeliest destination would be Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
Barcelona are looking to rebuild with player such as Tottenham Hotspurs Gareth Bale, Valencia’s Jordo Alba as well as rumours swirling that they are after Arsenal hitman Robin Van Persie.
